Chapter 61

Seeing this Damon couldn’t help but remember their last moments together in the room. Their warm lips locked with her abnormally long tongue roaming free in his mouth. That was his first and favorite kiss of all time. Her serpent side gave her a gift that made her a really good kisser.

Damon struggled to remain calm as those thoughts races through his mind. He refuses to believe he would be thrown into confusion by the little moment spent with her. Is love really that strong?

Is this Love?

Random questions filled his head and he shut his eyes and meditated.

“So why are you here?” Gin asked Lucy with the same smile on his face.

“Because I like him and I want to spend more time with him” Lucy was direct and honest, stunning everyone.

Goddess Lu dating Damon!

How couldn’t they feel excited? If people know what’s going on they will definitely die of jealousy. This meant that If they maintained a good relationship they have pulled another member of the chosen to their side, creating a small team of Chosen!

.....

Lucy turned to see Damon gazing at her weirdly. He obviously didn’t know how to respond to her words or actions. Damon quickly stood up and left, leaving the rest stunned and confused.

Why would he leave?

He left for class without the others and pondered on last night’s battle. After taking into account that he killed two students which he could not admit to, he wondered what move the fox spirits would make.

While there are other dominant supernatural beasts, these are the ones who reside in this area. In an academy like this where lustful acts take place the most between male and female students, this was definitely the best place for them to cultivate.

He may have killed four students alongside the fox spirits and it’s only a matter of time before the academy notices they are missing a few students. Every other student that has died during this warring era between the two schools has been publicly killed. For four students to vanish just like that, all in one night it won’t be surprising if the academy takes bold decisions and improve the academy security.

What he tried to understand now is how the fox spirits would operate, especially the three-tailed fox spirit who had a good relationship with the previous death guardian spirit host.

His eyes dilated as countless thoughts flowed into his mind, distracting him until he got to class.

As usual, the class wasn’t anything special. They simply talked about things that one would notice as they get stronger. The human, warrior, and Champion realms are under the category known as the mortal realm. During that time both fighters and mages have to rely on mana as their source of power.

One would have to rely on his mana reserves in battle. While these cultivation realms are extremely profound and make up almost ninety-nine percent of a kingdom’s strength, they are still considered mortal.

With the little everyone knows, the next level that allows one to transcend beyond the level of mortals, into a much higher realm is known as the spirit. In an entire empire like this, only the Emperor who many refer to as the son of heaven, and the Archmage have made their way into the spirit realm.

They both stand at the pinnacle existence of the empire and even someone like Damon has no choice but to deeply respect them. Only after reaching the spirit realm does one escape the constraints placed on mere mortals and their life span is enhanced. Even a champion realm individual will not live past a hundred and fifty years at best, but the same can’t be said for the son of heaven or the Archmage.

It is said that in the spirit realm, a cultivator has no need for mana anymore. They draw power from the world and with the world energy surging deep in their veins, they possess limitless strength and power, capable of turning the tides of battle alone.

“This world is quite dangerous” Damon couldn’t help but admit inwardly.

The more complex a world is, the more dangerous it is. It was only normal to have such a train of thought. His eyes drifted to his back and some distance away, in another seat was Lucy and the other three. Her eyes were on him so when they made eye contact she smile and he frowned.

“Fuck my life” Damon complained inwardly.

At this point, he couldn’t help but ask himself why he is acting strangely. Since he didn’t hate her or what to kill her, why was he acting this way?

There is actually no problem with her becoming friends or even more, is he acting this way because of the kiss in the morning?

Damon instinctively touched his lips and smiled.

“Since Master Damon is in a good mood, I hope you don’t mind demonstrating the fusion of elements” the professor’s stern voice rang into Damon’s ears which promptly made him stand.

Fusion?

Damon raised an eyebrow in confusion. What was the difference between combining his elemental affinity and a complete fusion?

Without hesitation he opened his palm and wind began surging in with fire, slowly gathering together.

“You mean this?” Damon asked with a raised eyebrow.

“No. That is simple combination” The professor shook her head in refusal.

“Fusion and combination are two different things entirely. While combining elements you get to complement and element with another to maximize its damage or defense or output. Such combinations are limited to elements which are compatible and not just any random element. That’s why you always stick to just fire and wind when you still have the shadow element...” the professor said and opened her hand just like Damon.

Water and wind appeared in her hand, combining to form an ice shard the size of the body of water provided.

“This is the combination” she said.

“It is like bringing two different entities together to create the best out of it” She added.

The ice shard soon vanished and this time she still had her hand out. Instead of bringing water and wind and watching them combine a frosty air emerged spreading from the professor’s podium to other parts of the class. As the frosty air spread, everything in its part kept getting frozen! Damon leaned forward in shock since he never expected this outcome.

“This is fusion” she said which made Damon frown.

While many didn’t completely grasp the concept of fusion at the first glance, Damon was able to do so. He noticed that the two elements didn’t just gather and complement each other. They actually joined from within to form a new element altogether!

“Fusion is not limited to any element nor is it restricted to compatibility. Any element can be fused together, be it light or darkness to form an entirely new element. What the end product will be may surprise you” the professor said.

Listening to this, Damon was lost in thought and ignored everything around him. As usual, he didn’t hesitate to give it a try!

Swoosh!

While the professor was talking she felt something, something unstable just like every other student in the class. Damon usually sat alone do he had nothing to bother about people around him. Everyone watched in shock as Damon’s hand was thrown open and even though there was no physical fire or wind, the atmosphere around him had changed

His purple eyes let out an orange and white flare of power as something seemed to be going on! Before the professor could even stop him a small bang sound could be heard from Damon causing him to fall on his sit!

Blood splattered everywhere as the hand which he used to attempt was burnt bad and numerous cuts could be seen on it!

Oh my god!

People in the class screamed in panic and even the professor was caught off guard. Damon turned pale in shock and right in front of everyone he nimbly jumped from seat to seat, escaping from the class in a flash without hesitation!

The professor gazed at his fleeing figure and sighed. She didn’t try to stop him either and could only watch him run.

“Reckless... If the fusion process is so easy, just anyone can do it then!” she snorted disdainfully but her eyes were telling a different story.

Anyone who was strong enough to become a professor in this Academy is not oblivious to the supernatural side of this world. While Damon may not know, she was already aware of his identity as a werewolf and a lone wolf at that.

She knew the reason he ran was that he didn’t want his injuries to heal right in front of the class. She leaned on the podium a bit and sighed.

This was a close call!

“I guess I will have to tutor him a bit on this later...” She muttered calmly while gazing at the exit of the hall with strange eyes.
